Trip Report - Guayaquil, Ecuador

Updated: Sep 27, 2023

In March, I had gracious opportunity to take my 1st ever trip to Ecuador which is location on the pacific side of South America between Colombia and Peru.

Guayaquil is a port city in Ecuador, known as a gateway to Pacific beaches and the Galapagos Islands. Stretching along the Guayas River is the waterfront Simón Bolívar promenade, home to La Rotonda monument. In the north, Las Peñas is a neighborhood full of colorful houses. Stairs lined with cafes and art galleries lead up Santa Ana Hill, site of Santa Ana chapel, a lighthouse and views of the city.

While in Guayaquil, I had the opportunity to explore the popular areas and mingle with the locals at local lounges and clubs. Although it was cloudy for most part of stay, the humidity was high and felt like a hot sauna during the day but that didn't affect my experience. Check out trip video highlighting this lovely city.
