During the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, I quit my six-figure job. This job was highly stressful, where I constantly experienced Monday morning panic attacks and ongoing migraines. In a senior role, I managed 2 teams and performed my responsibilities as a strategic marketer. Although I've performed my role beyond expectations, the amount of high-level stress negatively affected me - professionally and personally. After a full year of operating at full mental capacity, on a crisp cool Friday morning as I seat in my car going to work, I made a decision. I submitted my 2 weeks letter of resignation to HR and immediately started the healing process. First, I slept like a big baby every day. Then I booked a one-way flight to Colombia for 2 weeks visiting Medellin, Cali, and Cartagena. After that trip, I turned around and spent 30 days in the Dominican Republic, where I toured across the north coast of Puerto Plata, Cabarete, Rio San Juan, Nagua, and Samana living like a local below my means yet immersed myself in the everyday life. During this trip, I was able to get my mental health in order then started to plan my next move.
