Colombia Trip Report: Santiago de Cali

Santiago de Cali bka Cali, Colombia is the 3rd largest city and it is located in the southern region. Cali has the 2nd largest Afro-Colombian population and the city is know for its festive salsa season and variety ethnic cuisines. This is not know for its tourists attraction like its sister cities of Medellin and Cartagena but there are things to do and see.

On this recent trip, my friends and I literally had 48 hours in this city so we did the best we could to explore as much as possible. Please keep in mind, most of the city activities were limited due to pandemic but we made best of the local party scene as well as participated in walking tour.

During the day we did a walking tour to get some awesome footage and ate at various Afro-Colombian restaurants. After the day tour, we partied with the locals at Parque de Perro in San Fernando as well as in Granada. As I mentioned before, we had 48 hours in Cali during a pandemic; we made best of the situation and enjoyed our time.

Overall, Cali is cool city to visit if you want to experience the local scene without any tourist traps. Food is amazing, nightlife scene is one of the best in the country and you get the chance to see alot of Afro-Colombians promoting their culture. Most definitely, I will go back to experience Cali longer than 48 hours.
