Black men have always traveled domestically and overseas. Never to broadcast their travel adventures and have always preferred to remain under the radar. However, due to social media, everyone has an opportunity to glimpse into the life of a black male traveler. In addition the surging movement of the Passport Bros parading their travel interests.
Consequently, there is a growing distinction and disdain for a specific group of male travelers traveling overseas. Separating ones from the herd have always been a goal for black male travelers simply to be viewed in a better position - socially, economically, and intellectually. Now that everyone is getting a passport and traveling to the same destinations, there seems to be tension between male travelers and quickly labeling disruptive travelers as Passport Pookie!
What is a Passport Pookie? A Passport Pookie is a disruptive traveler who brings his crude antics and behavior to an overseas destination disregarding a country's norms and customs. For example, an undesired antic such as throwing money in the air and then amusingly watching the locals scrambling for the loose dollars. This behavior has caused an online beef between these travelers and ongoing conversations in social forums on whether to share other travel destinations to avoid any crude behaviors.
